In September, the band debuted their track “Let Go” with Afropunk which set the band buzzing in their scene and leaving fans pumped for the official music video release. “Let Go” is about letting go of what’s bad for you. On the video, the band states:
“When we sat down with director Aaron George, we looked at the feel of the song which had a nostalgic 90’s energy, and then we looked at different ways to tell the story of “letting go.”.From there the concept built itself and became interesting, artistic and left for viewer interpretation. The video is specifically shot unorthodox and at a different pace to be able to show off the song’s cinematic value.”
FRTNK” is an American Alternative Hip-Hop group formed by artists Benjamin Aragbaye (Benni the Wise), Bryan Ramos, and Barin Butler. Their musical style joins the electronic sounds of rock and Neo-RnB together while seamlessly merging it with heavy 808’s and groovy synthesizers. Each being only in their early twenty’s, their daring dream-like production laid with raps and harmonies has already generated comparisons to world renowned musicians like Outkast, Kanye West, The Neptunes, and The Gorillas. Yet, they have something special and unique about them that simply sets them apart. Coming from the Inland Empire they now reside in LA. They’ve been studying music since they were in elementary and they’ve found some way to blend and mesh opposing musical genres effortlessly. Their work has landed on the desk of Director Issa Rae, who is known for the hit TV show “Insecure”. They have been working diligently in their California home studio recording and producing for themselves & other artists.
